Constant-speed travel ties the three together by distance = speed × time. Enter any two and the third is solved for, then shown in every unit. Velocity is treated as plain speed (no direction).
Formulas
These assume a constant speed over the whole trip, so the “speed” you compute from a distance and a time is really the average speed. Real journeys speed up and slow down; this is the steady pace that would cover the same ground in the same time.
Units are converted through SI base units — metres, seconds and metres per second — so any mix works: 60 mph for 30 minutes, or 100 m at 10 m/s. The answer is then expressed in every unit of that quantity so you can read off whichever you need. 1 knot is one nautical mile (1852 m) per hour; 1 mile is 1609.344 m.
